Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update

We have been closely monitoring the progression of the COVID-19 pandemic and the guidelines from the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our top priority is the health of our patients and their families, our staff, and the community we serve.

To decrease the risk of exposure to COVID-19, we have made some adjustments to our schedule and the way we handle visits. Anyone over the age of 2 is required to have a face covering. We are no longer using the waiting room, so when you arrive please call the office at 727-228-7000 and choose option 1. We are disinfecting all surfaces after both the AM and PM schedules and in between every patient. We are using separate rooms for sick/well visits. Saturday mornings will continue as before, for urgent care only – please call Saturday morning at 8 AM if your child needs to be seen.

When you arrive at our parking lot, please call the office and we will directly bring you to your designated room. Sick visits with fever and cough will be evaluated in the parking lot to minimize the number of people potentially exposed. We are limiting the number of parents/caretakers allowed in the room to 1, but as always welcome you to have additional caregivers join us via Facetime, etc. if you desire.

Additionally, we now have Videomedicine available! If you would like to be seen, but are hesitant to come into the office because of the current situation, please contact us to see if you qualify for this type of appointment. Our staff will guide you through the process.

A great deal of research and careful consideration guides this decision. We will continue to monitor the situation and the plan may change as the situation changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Moore and the entire Peninsula Pediatrics Team
